The Picasso Museum occupies the Château Grimaldi in Antibes.
In 1946 Pablo Picasso was offered by Dor of Souchère the opportunity to set up his studio at the castle. In 1957 Picasso officially received the title of "Honorary Citizen of the city of Antibes." In 1966, Chateau Grimaldi became the Picasso Museum and Romuald Dor de la Souchère its first curator. One can find around 245 works by the artist as well as paintings by Nicolas de Stael, Fernand Léger and Hans Hartung, Paul Leuquet prints and sculptures by Germaine Richier and Joan Miró.
