At the heart of Paris, along the Seine, visit the Conciergerie, the oldest evidence of the Palais de la Cité, the first royal residence and capital of the prison during the French Revolution.

This important vestige of the Capetian Palace is a remarkable testimony to the civil architecture of the fourteenth century with the Hall of Weapons of People, the guard room and kitchens.

Almost all of the low level of the palace was converted into a prison in the fifteenth century; dungeons you can visit (that of Marie Antoinette, in particular) and discover the memories of the Revolution.
