The museum is located in a former military residence, this mansion demonstrates the art of living in the late 19th century to Fort-de-France. On the ground floor: a temporary exhibition hall. Temporary exhibitions usually last 2-3 months.
Upstairs has a permanent exhibition room, a dining room, a bedroom and a bathroom that recreate a bourgeois interior of the late nineteenth century furniture and everyday objects characteristic of this era. Protected in showcases ancient documents trace some major historical episodes of the island in the nineteenth century XVII. Access to different rooms corridors and galleries welcome Creole jewelry and costumes, and a fine collection of old books.
