Hiroshige. Visions from Japan

Scuderie del Quirinale | Rome
€13 - €15
Japanese art comes to fascinate the Eternal City with its views and famous landscapes, beauty and sensuality that evoke the ancient magic of the land of the rising sun.

The Scuderie del Quirinale is devoting a major retrospective to a selection of 230 works by Hiroshige, a famous Japanese painter and engraver who, along with Hokusai, is considered one of the leading Japanese landscape painters and among the most famous representatives of the Ukiyo-e Japanese art movement.

Hiroshige's artistic paintings includes various genres, including prints of actors, warriors, courtesans, but the main object of his art was nature in all its forms. The contemplation of nature and the harmonic representation is what distinguishes Hiroshige from other painters-engravers of his time, he creates a dialectic between the finite and the infinite, feeling resulting from an almost religious listening of nature.

The exhibition is over since the 24/06/2018
