Centro Pecci is a museum dedicated to contemporary art of the last 50 years. The centre’s full name is Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci (Centre for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci) and it is located in Prato, Tuscany’s second town, about 25 kilometres north-west of Florence.

The collection includes over 1.000 works from the 1950s until today, from sculptures, installations and paintings, to photographs and video works, and is especially rich in works from the Arte Povera and Transavantgarde movements. In addition, each year a number of temporary exhibitions are on display.

The museum was founded in 1988 by the industrialist Enrico Pecci in memory of his son Luigi Pecci. It was designed by Italo Gamberini and inspired by the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. In 2016 an extension designed by the Dutch architect Maurice Nio doubled the museum’s floor space.
