Château-Musée de Nemours

Nemours | Fine Arts - Archeology - History
€2 - €3
Castle Nemours is built in the twelfth century on the left bank of the Loing, at a former lookout fortress. This building is one of the few castles city in Ile-de-France reached us. Unlike castles built at the same time, he escaped by dismantling the monarchy through the special relationship of the lords de Nemours therewith.

Transformed into Castle Museum of Fine Arts in 1903, houses a rich collection of over 20,000 works. The museum contains a remarkable collection of graphic art (prints and drawings) and photographs as well as paintings and sculptures of iconic art from the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Many gifts during the twentieth century have enriched the collection: local archeology, natural sciences, coins, tapestries, ceramics essentially revolutionary.
