The gallery of paleontology and comparative anatomy is one of the institutions of the French National Museum of Natural History. It is located in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris at the beginning of the rue Buffon, near the Gare d'Austerlitz.

It was inaugurated in 1898 for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 and was born from the desire of teachers Albert Gaudry (professor of paleontology), George Pouchet (professor of comparative anatomy) and Ernest Hamy (Professor of Anthropology ) who wanted to preserve and present to the public collections of great historical and scientific value for the purpose of placing the nascent evolutionism.

Found in the Gallery of Paleontology, an outstanding collection of fossils, dinosaurs, mastodons, shells, giant birds, insects.
