Hôtel Heidelbach - Galeries du Panthéon Bouddhique

Paris | Asian arts
€6.5 - €8.5
This appendix Guimet Museum is located in the former mansion of Alfred Heidelbach (1852-1922), banker.

It houses a unique collection since in Europe: a set of 250 Japanese works, gathered by Emile Guimet during his trip to the archipelago in 1876, and Chinese works presented in addition. The originality of the Buddhist Pantheon lies in the didactic presentation of figures revered as they appear in profusion in the Buddhist temples of these nations.

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary in 2001, the Buddhist Pantheon is enriched with an authentic tea pavilion erected at the rear of the building, in the garden. The Pavilion hosts the legendary Japanese tea ceremony.
