Grotte de Laugerie Basse

Les Eyzies-de-Tayac | Speleothems (stalactites, stalagmites ...)
€3.5 - €7
Laugerie Lower Paleolithic is a French site that is in a rock shelter at Les Eyzies-de-Tayac in the Dordogne.
Arriving on the site you will be impressed by the limestone cliff that dominates the site: 60 meters high and 500 meters long. Below, for thousands of years, runs the Vézère.
shelters under rocks, formed under the action of freezing and thawing, are dotted with large limestone blocks fallen from the cliff. Laugerie Low is both deemed for many discovered at the site but also for the 500 objects decorated (furniture art) tools found there. There are actually two shelters on the site Laugerie Bass: - Classic shelter on the left completely searched and on which houses were built - safe from Marseilles on the right and still keeps unexcavated (but visitable) party under the limestone blocks collapsed.
