Idemitsu Museum of Arts opened in Showa 41 (1966) in Marunouchi, Chiyoda City, Tokyo to exhibit the Idemitsu collection. The museum is located on the 9th floor of the Imperial Theatre looking out on the moats of the Imperial Palace. The exhibits focus on the paintings and writings of Japan, Chinese and Japanese ceramics and porcelain, and the old works of art of the Orient. There are exhibits 5 or 6 times a year that center around a theme.
