Presentation
This museum in the whole topic turned to peace, is located in France in Caen, Normandy regional capital close to the beaches of the Allied landings on 6 June 1944, which was largely destroyed by Allied bombing at the end of the Second World War.

Constituted from 1988 collections at the Caen Memorial gathering thousands of objects relating to the daily lives of civilians and soldiers of all the belligerent countries during the Second World War.

With an active acquisition policy and donations, collections are enriched year after year of objects and documents to better understand the history of mentalities and limited war. Resistors, racial deportations and repression, propaganda, war efforts, captivity, the daily soldier on the front and art are our areas of acquisition. Since 2002, the collections were opened during the period of the Cold War. Similarly decolonization is a theme dedicated to become very important in the years to come.
