The Westerkerk is the largest Protestant church in Holland and date of 1631. This beautiful building has a bell tower of 85 meters overlooking the entire city. It also has a carillon of 50 bells and an impressive organ.

The church played an important role in the history of Amsterdam. The painter Rembrandt van Rijn was buried there in 1669, but no one knows exactly where. Anne Frank mentions several times in his diary, Queen Beatrix and Claus von Amsberg married there in 1966.
