Tejo Power Station was, for several years, the main source of electricity in Lisbon and then became a reserve power plant in the event of peak consumption. Since 1990, the site has been rehabilitated to become the Museum of Electricity.

This museum will allow you to explore the bowels of the thermoelectric power plant. The first two rooms are devoted to large boilers and machinery, you will learn all about the operation of the plant.

At the end of the visit, children and adults can have fun and test their knowledge through a series of workshops and fun experiences on the theme of electricity.

The museum also offers temporary exhibitions of contemporary art or photographs. In short, a busy afternoon, ideal for children or rainy days and as a bonus, you can enjoy a beautiful walk on the banks of the Tagus.
