Maison des Jardies à Sèvres

Sèvres | Gambetta Museum
€4 - €5.5
This wine house, built in the late seventeenth century on the south side of the Domaine de Saint-Cloud, Ile-de-France, was transformed in the nineteenth century country house.

It was the property of the writer Honoré de Balzac and Leon Gambetta, founder of the Third French Republic, which acquired it in 1878 and died there in 1882. It has survived in its original decor, location of life and work of the statesman, now a place of memory of the Republican fighter.
