The native house of Louis Braille is a residence briarde 18th century, it saw being born in its room common Louis Braille (1809-1832), the inventor of the universal writing at projecting points which bears its name.

It is in the workshop of harness-maker of its father at the ground floor that at the 3 years age, it is wounded in an eye and loses the sight little of time afterwards.

On the 1st floor all the objects concerning its life and its work are exposed. A library of old works of which a part is in Braille are put at the disposal of people who would wish to make research on this brilliant inventor Seine-and-marnais.
