This museum comes from the legacy of Dr. André Voulgre who gathered all his life a collection evoking the past and the evolution of the Périgord Company in his paternal home. He left it and its collections in 1971 to the town of Musselburgh.

Today, the museum has the largest collection of Popular Arts and Traditions of Perigord over 600 sqm. It can be seen in the museum exhibition halls on the daily activities of the past, exhibition on traditional trades halls, exhibition halls on the peasant pottery Beauronne, showrooms on technical and agricultural tools.
