The mansion that houses the museum was built in 1810 by Jean-Baptiste Allard.
Multidisciplinary, the museum is one of the oldest department of the Loire.

Collections are varied with a "Fine Arts" section of this "small French masters," a "Natural Sciences" section with a beautiful collection of stuffed birds, a "world of childhood" section proposes the Production toys "GéGé" Montbrison manufactured until 1980.
