Musée de Cambrai

Cambrai | Archéologie - Beaux-Arts - Histoire
€2.5 - €3.5
The Museum of Cambrai is created in 1846 to house the combined result of the revolutionary seizures collections. First located in some windows of the town hall and the chapel of Saint Julien hospital, it is installed in 1893 in the mansion built in the eighteenth century to the family of Francqueville. It is renovated and expanded in 1994 by architects Jean-François Bodin and Thierry Germ.

The Museum of Cambrai is a general museum of fine arts and archeology, which takes visitors on a chronological journey from prehistoric to contemporary art through three departments: Archaeology, Heritage Cambrai and Fine Arts. One of the strong elements of the visit is the audiovisual presentation on the history of the city from the return of the relief map of Cambrai.
