Musée de Flandre

Cassel | Archeology - Decorative Arts - Fine Arts - History
€4 - €6
The Museum of Flanders aims to promote artistic creation in Flanders, which makes it unique. The course, organized by themes, promotes dialogue between ancient works and contemporary creations and allows the visitor to discover the richness and diversity of Flemish culture of the fifteenth century to the present, beyond borders. A permanent exhibition constantly renewed, major exhibitions and a varied cultural program make this museum a lively and vibrant place.

Current collections assembled behind some 6,000 objects have been enriched through a targeted acquisition policy on contemporary art and the ancient art of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The museum now houses the works of Leo Copers, Manuel Ruiz Vida, Janusz Stega, Jan Fabre, Thierry de Cordier, Patrick van Caeckenbergh Koen Vanmechelen; the ancient art collection hosted works by the Master of Frankfurt, William Kerricx, Roelandt Savery, David Teniers, Joachim Patinir, Simon de Vos.
