The National Museum of the Legion of Honour and the orders of knighthood is a French national museum of art and history devoted to the orders of chivalry and merit, decorations and medals, both French and foreign. It is located in the Hôtel de Salm in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

The museum was established on the initiative of General Dubail, Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor, and funded through open within the Legion and the Military Medal, whose success was particularly strong in the United States subscription. It was inaugurated in 1925 at the original core of the collections, consisting of funds of the Grand Chancellery, deposits of national museums have been added, over time, many donated collectors, but also donations from foreign governments to complement existing collections [Russian Federation, Poland ...] finally prestigious shopping and dations [green decorations Cambacérès in 1982 Collar of the Order Royal of the Two Sicilies in 2002 Achille Murat
