The Museum of the violin and bow making French Mirecourt to discover a selection of stringed instruments with different periods and methods of production.

The seventeenth century marks the beginning of the luthier vocation of the city of Mirecourt. The city was the capital of the Duchy of Lorraine bailiwick. It is from 1732 that the first makers and players of instruments are organized as a corporation.

The instrumental collection includes 321 items, representing three centuries of craft production. The string instruments or plucked, for the most part were handcrafted by luthiers and bow Mirecourt or installed from Mirecourt.
