Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux

The most famous "tapestry" of the Middle Ages. This unique document is a wool embroidery on linen canvas in the tenth century probably by monks in southern Angletette. Almost 70 m long and 50 cm high, she recounts in 58 scenes the conquest of England by William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy.

Preparation for the visit gives the keys to this story, by returning it in its historical context. Many models, maps and photographs, as well as a 15-minute film, evoke everyday life in the eleventh century.
