The Museum of Printing is one of the museums of Lyon, whose main missions are to enhance, conserve, document and value to various audiences bookish and graphic heritage.

This building, which dates back to the late fifteenth century, was destined to one of these enterprising merchants of Lyons, in the time of the wars of Italy, made their city a European metropolis.

Museum of printing offers a panorama of the history of the book and graphical techniques and highlights the decisive role played by the city of Lyon at the beginning of the Renaissance in the development of the book. Its collections cover the whole printed from Gutenberg to the present day, the 42-line Bible (circa 1454) up to the first typeset books (twentieth century) generation, not to mention wood and copper engravings, prints, machinery to compose and print graphics hardware.
