The rich medieval and Renaissance collections testify to the city's prestigious past, which was one of the most important artistic centers of the German Empire from the 13th to the 16th century. The masterpieces of statuary from the Strasbourg Cathedral are alongside the finest examples of Upper Rhenish art from the 15th and 16th centuries.

The journey, synthesis of all the arts, is accomplished in harmony with the architectural framework of the museum. Behind the venerable gables of the House of the Work of Our Lady, assigned since the 13th century to the administration of the construction site of the cathedral, the interior decorations, the freshness of the courtyards and the charming Gothic garden contribute to the feeling of intimacy with the Strasbourg past.

Discover the museum through the rooms and collections: sculptures by virtuoso artist Nicolas Gerhaert from Leiden, paintings by Conrad Witz, Hans Baldung Grien and still life master Sébastien Stoskopff, stained glass by Peter Hemmel from Andlau ... The Museum of the Work of Our Lady offers you a remarkable testimony of Alsatian art, from the Romanesque period to 1681.
