The Museum of Fine Arts in Dunkerque is one of the leading museums in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.

The first museum of Dunkerquewas established in 1841 under the leadership of MP Benjamin Morel. Refurbished in 1999, the Museum of Fine Arts currently has three exposure levels:
- The ground floor hosts temporary exhibitions of art for years 1950-1980 based on the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the theme Art and Society and the history of Dunkirk.
- The first floor offers a journey to discover the major European schools of the sixteenth century to the twentieth century Flanders, France, Holland and Italy. The Flemish and Dutch schools are logically the best represented, Dunkirk is historically a city of maritime Flanders
- In the basement, a natural history gallery houses a collection of butterflies, birds, insects and minerals.
