The Museum of fine arts, created at the initiative of the Mulhouse industrial, occupies one of the mansions of the 18th century: the Villa Steinbach, built by a manufacturer of painted backdrops, Jean Vetter, and acquired in the 19th century by Georges Steinbach. Its collections are paintings by various schools and eras: religious paintings of the middle ages, works by Pieter Brueghel the younger, Teniers, Ruysdael, butcher, Courbet...

The Museum also has a rich collection of the 19th century, contemporary art with temporary exhibitions and hosts the art lending library where you can borrow works of art.
