Musée des Beaux-Arts de Pau

Pau | Ethnologie - Histoire
The Museum of Fine Arts Pau is a municipal museum of the city of Pau in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques. Founded in 1864 on the initiative of the Society of Friends of béarnaise arts, is the second largest museum of Aquitaine after the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux.

Collections of paintings from the museum are of great wealth, thanks to the legacy Louis La Caze (1798-1869) who in 1872 was brought to the museum 30 paintings of major painters such as Zurbaran, Bassano and Jordaens.
