The Museum of Roman docks, this in situ the remains of a rare Roman known commercial warehouses worldwide.
Windows arranged along the walls tell the story of maritime trade through objects from underwater excavations over twenty shipwrecks found in the harbor of Marseille. This trade was conducted throughout the Mediterranean basin as indicated by the marks plugs amphorae. Recent excavations places Jules Verne and Villeneuve-Bargemon located on either side of the central hall also provided valuable information. The exposed material dated between vi century BC and the fourth century or a thousand years, gives an overview of the maritime commerce of the city of Marseille to Greek and Roman times.
