The history of Marseille museum is a museum dedicated to the history of the city of Marseille. Founded in 1983, it was renovated and reopened in 2013 on the occasion of Marseille-Provence 2013.

The museum presents permanent exhibitions in the history of the city from its foundation until the eighteenth century, or 2400 years of history
- The meeting between OM and Ligurians, urban, maritime commerce and funeral rites of Massalia
- The first centuries of Christianity (IV-VII centuries)
- Medieval pottery workshops (St. Barbara) and the first French pottery of the thirteenth century
- The transformation of the city under Louis XIV (construction of Fort Saint-Jean and Saint-Nicolas), the architectural projects and achievements of Pierre Puget, the great plague of 1720
- The extension of the museum helps develop the nineteenth and twentieth centuries
