The Louvre-Lens has more than three hundred works in a "gallery of time" 120 meters long and more than 2000 sqm. Composed of many masterpieces from all departments of the Louvre, this gallery is the only place in the world where you can see together in one space a real river works constituting both a wonderful book of knowledge and discoveries, but a succession of wonders.
Presented in strict chronological order, the works tell and show at the same time in the history of empires of the Middle East, Egypt and Greece and Rome, finally, Islam and Europe.

The "Glass Pavilion". This Pavilion allows other perspectives on the works. A new theme is developed there every year for deepening themes discussed in the "Gallery of the time."

The museum is built on the site of the old No. 9 pit mines Lens. The museum is spread over a fleet of twenty hectares (landscaped park of 6600 trees).
