The Museum is housed since 1926 in a small castle built in 1772. In 1922 the Company settled Julien Sacaze the objective of protecting wealth dispersed in the High Valleys of Comminges, the maintenance of local customs and traditions of the mountain and the creation of a museum primarily Luchonnais.

Collections are multiple:
- Ethnographic collection includes ancient objects and tools, one of the richest in the south of France,
- Julien Sacaze collection consists of archaeological pieces found in the Pays de Luchon,
- Bertrand Gorsse collection offers a set of lithographs, drawings and prints on Comminges
- Alban Rouge collection is on winter sports.
