The Musée du Petit Palais in Avignon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is opened in 1976 and devoted himself to painting and sculpture medieval and early Renaissance museum. Only museum of its kind since essentially based on the painting before the second half of the sixteenth century, it has not in the least one of the largest international collections of early Italian - the largest in France after that of museum Louvre.

The museum is located in the Little Palace, the residence of the archbishop of Avignon dating from the fourteenth century and located in the historic center of Avignon.
