Installed in the former Dungeon of Chauvigny (15th), the Museum invites to meet George Sand through his work and his memories, to discover the region which she described in her rustic novels through his ethnological and artistic heritage then to travel with birds from around the world.

An amazing collection of birds of the great naturalist expeditions of the 18th and 19th centuries, alongside portraits, drawings and original editions of George Sand and his artist friends greeted at Nohant. The scenery of the area is planted by the landscapes of the painters of the school of Crozant-Gargilesse headdresses or instruments of traditional music of the Berry.
