Opened in 1838 in a building of the seventeenth century - the Palace of Malta, purchased by the city in 1825 - the Granet Museum is labeled "museum of France."

This offers a path developing over 4,000 m2, favoring funds paintings and sculptures. Nearly 600 works are on display offering a vast panorama of artistic creation from the primitive and the Renaissance, to the masterpieces of modern and contemporary art of the exceptional donation Philippe Meyer, including paintings and sculptures Alberto Giacometti.

The Granet Museum is developing a dynamic program of temporary exhibitions, mediation, educational and cultural activities.
