Musée Industriel de la Corderie Vallois

Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville | Technique et industrie
Free Admission
Presentation
Former factory restarted. The building dates from 1822. Located near Rouen, on the river Cailly, Industrial Rope Museum Vallois offers exemplary witness of the time when "the plants came out of the ground like mushrooms in spring" in this valley with looks like a "little Manchester".

Place of memory, this industrial site has been meticulously restored. Its half-timbered building, the waterwheel, its transmission, its original machinery form a framework for the discovery of a missing activity, the study of the history of the textile industry, illustration hydraulic technique used here without interruption from the fifteenth century until today.
The machines work again the rhythm of the wheel to show the manufacture of ropes and braided cable.
