Pastor museum is open to the public in 1935 at the Institut Pasteur 25, rue du Docteur Roux in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The museum has its origins in a family gift in the Thirties. Professor Louis Pasteur Vallery-Radot, grand-son of the scientist, anxious to perpetuate the spirit of play in restoring the apartment to its original design, done at the Institut Pasteur of all furniture and objects that belonged to his grandparents parents.

The apartments of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pasteur were remarkably well preserved and offer a perfect historical record of Parisian bourgeois habitat in the late nineteenth century.

Pastor museum dedicated to the life of Louis Pasteur, is installed in the apartment occupied by him the last years of his life.
