The Luxembourg Museum was the first French museum opened to the public in 1750. It now presents two exhibitions a year, produced by the RMN-Grand Palais.

The main themes of the program are the Renaissance in Europe, the relationship between art and power and the role of Paris as the capital of the arts.

Close to the Palais and the Jardin du Luxembourg, the museum, owned by the Senate, enjoys an exceptional environment in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Its spaces have been completely redesigned by the architect Shigeru Ban to accommodate the Angelina restaurant / tea room as well as the museum's educational workshops.
