Inaugurated in 1895, the Museum of Nîmes, one of two museums in Languedoc, is the sixth-largest national wealth of its collections.

Set around a cloister and a chapel ranked seventeenth century, it covers all areas of the human sciences. Pending a complete renovation, three themes are presented to the public: the prehistory, ethnography and zoology.
Today, the Natural History Museum of Nîmes includes three entities: the natural history museum, planetarium and the School of DNA. Temporary exhibitions and numerous educational and scientific workshops are nîmois site a center of regional scientific culture.
