The Natural History Museum of Reunion is Reunion only museum. It is located in the heart of the city of Saint-Denis in the public park Garden State.

42,000 parts are now listed at the Museum. Two thirds come from the islands of the western Indian Ocean. Among the rarest specimens, a Greek duck, a male eclectus parrot, a Sooty Falcon and a ring-necked parakeet Ward. There are only 13 specimens of this species formerly endemic Seychelles and now extinct worldwide. There are also a number of human fetuses and a kid born the upside.

For the rest, the Museum has preserved the fountain of its first curator. Upstairs, there is a particularly large number of scientific books and engravings of the eighteenth century and nineteenth century. The old collection of the Museum includes 416 of 1008 boards Buffon, personal gift of it to M. de Lanux.
