Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans is an ancient saline / Saunerie (industrial salt production, "white gold" or rock salt / halite) of the eighteenth century in operation until 1895, Arc-et-Senans in Doubs Franche-Comté. Among the most important salt of Europe of his day, it was built by the architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux in the reign of King Louis XV of France to transform brine transferred through a 21km pipeline from the mines of Salins-les- bathroom.
