Great stage moments are permanently maintained in the Theatre Museum: The collections are comprised of nearly 2 million objects, including more than 100,000 hand sketches, almost 1000 theatre stage prop models, over 1 million photos, approximately 2000 pieces of memorabilia having to do with famous actors, authors and composers, numerous costumes made according to designs by Oskar Kokoschka and Fritz Wotruba (among others) as well as puppets and shadow figures.

You will see Gustav Klimt‘s famous painting “Nuda Veritas” in the Theatre Museum. A special room is dedicated to art nouveau artist Richard Teschner (1879-1948) and his revolutionary theatre of figures, the so-called Figurenspiegel (Figure Mirror).
