Watari Museum of Contemporary Art is a private museum of contemporary art established in 1990. The building was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta. Since its opening, the museum showcases the work of international artists mainly in the fields of contemporary art, architecture, photography, and design through exhibitions original in concept. It also remains rooted in the community, and organizes lectures and workshops.

There’s a good art bookshop and a pleasant café in the basement.
